The country of India is the seventh largest country in the world by land, but the second largest by population. India is a very diverse country, with a wide range of geography, climate, and culture throughout. India prides itself in being the largest democracy on the planet.

One thing that any intrepid traveler won't want to miss is the Thar Desert. Camel safaris are available to any traveler, and can range from a few hours to several days. Safari-goers will enjoy the tranquility of the desert, and its stunning starlit skies. It is advised to go between October and February for best weather.

Another interesting sight is the city of Fatehpur Sikri, with the Queens' Palaces. In the 16th Century, Emperor Akbar decided to move the capital city of India. He then built a palace for each of his 3 wives, each radically different. The Hindu Queen, his first wife, was given the largest and most opulent palace. It is built around a large courtyard with an intricate entrance. The other two palaces are notably smaller and less intricate. Regardless, the Queens' Palaces are a must see for any traveler.

While in India, a visit to Mahaballipuram to see the Temples on the Hill is worth your while. The trip is worth going to see the depiction of Arjuna's Penance on a rock wall along the road. Arjuna's Penance is a masterpiece of Middle Age Indian art, and is the world's biggest bas-relief sculpted on the rock. The entire carving is extremely detailed and is a sight to see for anyone. Other notable sights in India include the Taj Mahal and Gandi's Tomb.
