Ireland
Ireland, appropriately nicknamed the Emerald Isle, is an island full of magnificent scenery, and rich history. The friendliness of the Irish people will make you feel right at home for the duration of your stay. Ireland provides a serene atmosphere with a pleasant climate, if you don't mind moderate amounts of rain.
One attraction in Ireland is the Guiness factory. While a beer factory might not be everyone's idea of fun, it is still worth a visit while in Dublin. At the factory, you can get an in depth look at the making of beer. You won't want to miss the beer tasting either. For the tasting, you are taken up to the Gravity Bar, which provides a spectacular 360 degree view of the city.
Probably the most famous site in Ireland is the Blarney Castle. It provides for a nice day trip out of Dublin, if that's where you are staying. As anyone who has been will tell you, if you visit Blarney Castle, you have to see the Blarney Stone. The stone is said to give the gift of eloquence to anyone who kisses. The only thing is that you have to kiss it upside down. Nearby Blarney Village is a quaint town, where you can spend some time buying traditional Irish souvenirs. At the castle, you can also see the ruins of the Rock of Cashel, which was once a stronghold for many Irish kings.
The Cliffs of Moher provide wonderful views of the Atlantic for visitors. If you walk right up to the edge and look down, you will see the incredible view of the rocky shores below. The views here provide a serene ambiance that will have you desperately awaiting your return.
Another popular attraction is the Ring of Kerry. Many people recommend going around the ring counter-clockwise because the angle of the sun is best on the scenery going in that direction. Many restaurants line the roads that wander along the ring, so there is no problem trying to find something. If you plan on traveling the entire ring, you will probably be there the majority of the day. Be sure to take plenty of film for the breathtaking views along the trip.

Wales
The country of Wales is one often forgotten by people wishing to travel to the United Kingdom. Wales offers plenty to do, and has much ocean-side scenery. As with all the countries of the UK, visitors to Wales should be prepared for moderate amounts of rain.
In the city of Cardiff, there is the famous Cardiff Castle. The castle occupies an eight acre plot in the middle of Cardiff, and has since it was built by the Romans in the 1st Century. On the South wall of the castle, there is a mural that was painted in 1983 that shows Celtic life before, during, and after the Roman occupation. The castle was not as it is today until the 18th Century, when William Burgess and the second Marquess of Bute created a building program to create what we see today.
Besides the castle, Cardiff has many other things to do for travelers. In the city center is the Cardiff City Hall. The hall was opened in 1905 when Cardiff was declared a city. The hall includes a 194 foot clock tower with a sculpted Welsh Dragon. Next to City Hall is the National Museum and Gallery. The museum holds many world famous works, and has several galleries to see. Outside of the city center is the Mermaid Quay which holds many cafes and restaurants. A new performing arts venue, the Wales Millennium, presents daily performances. And if you just enjoy a by the ocean with the fresh sea air, Cardiff's seaside location offers a chance for that too.
One day trip that can be taken in Wales is a trip to Mt. Snowdon. There are several paths to the top that vary in difficulty. The mountain offers wonderful views from the top, but it can get crowded quickly. It is recommended that you go early to avoid the crowds.
